Wolves is a collection of songs that range in subject matter from Somali piracy (Fly The Black Flag) to the speedy decline of the natural world (Feelgood Hit of the Summer, Iron Oxide). It is the result of a solitary effort - self produced, thoroughly homemade. It is a more forceful, aggressive, and revealing entity than my previous albums, to my ears. There are references to shamanism, witchcraft, fundamentalist religion and all sorts of things that I find very topical and interesting. It was weirdly physical to make, and I am ever so thankful to those friends who propped me up during the process. It was recorded using garden furniture and a very beautiful old dresser that my landlords let me use. They make the record sound very warm and wonderful.
